Ubicación: Australia
SSince 2016, we have proudly partnered with Eden Brewery, an independent microbrewery in Australia dedicated to producing high-quality beer while positively impacting the community. In that year, Eden Brewery purchased a complete 800L beer brewery equipment set from us, which included:
- 200Kg/h Malt Miller – for efficient and consistent grain milling
- 800L Combined 3-Vessel Brewhouse – integrating mash tun, lauter tun, and kettle for streamlined brewing
- 800L Beer Fermenter Unitank – for precise fermentation control
- 800L Cold Water Tank – supporting temperature regulation and process needs
- Control System – centralized automation for monitoring and operation
- CIP (Clean-In-Place) System – ensuring hygienic cleaning of tanks and pipelines
Throughout the project, our team maintained close communication with Eden Brewery’s brewers, ensuring smooth implementation and consistent satisfaction with our brewery equipment solutions.
Building on this long-term collaboration, Eden Brewery returned in 2021 for an 800L distillation system, highlighting their trust in our expertise and equipment quality. The system is centered on our advanced Tower Distillation System, engineered for commercial-scale spirits production with versatility and precision.
Distillation System Highlights
- Customizable Materials & Design: Clients can choose between stainless steel or premium red copper (TP2) for critical components, and adjust the number of distillation columns to optimize production for spirits such as vodka, whisky, rum, and gin.
- Premium Copper Components: Our 800L still pot, bubble plates, and gin basket can be made with red copper, known for enhancing spirit quality. Copper interacts with sulfur and other impurities during distillation, producing a cleaner, smoother, and more refined flavor. Whisky and rum benefit from richer aromas, gin achieves vibrant botanical notes, and vodka or neutral spirits maintain purity.
- Precision Control & Efficiency: Steam jacket heating, PT100 intelligent temperature sensors, explosion-proof agitation, and CIP rotary cleaning ensure consistent performance. SUS304 dephlegmator and condenser provide high-efficiency heat exchange, with copper options to enhance flavor.
- Advanced Control System: Stainless steel electric cabinet integrates temperature display, pump/valve control, emergency stop, and optional remote monitoring with Schneider/ABB components for reliable automation.
How Distilled Spirits Are Made
Distilled spirits are produced by first fermenting a sugar- or grain-based liquid, such as malted barley, corn, sugarcane, or fruit, to create a base alcohol. The fermented liquid, or “wash,” is then heated in a still, where alcohol and other volatile compounds are separated from water and impurities through controlled evaporation and condensation. This distillation process not only concentrates the alcohol but also refines the flavor, aroma, and mouthfeel of the final spirit.
Different types of spirits require specific distillation techniques and equipment to achieve their characteristic profiles. For example, vodka is often distilled multiple times in stainless steel columns to create a clean, neutral taste, while whisky and rum benefit from copper components, which interact with sulfur compounds to develop richer aromas and smoother flavors. Gin relies on specialized copper gin baskets to infuse botanicals such as juniper, coriander, and citrus into the spirit, creating complex and aromatic notes.
The material of the equipment, the number of distillation plates, temperature control, and column configuration all play critical roles in determining the quality and consistency of the final product. Modern distilleries can adjust these parameters to produce spirits that meet precise flavor, aroma, and strength specifications, while also allowing room for experimentation and innovation. By understanding these processes, breweries and distilleries can better select and customize brewery equipment and distillation systems to achieve optimal results.
Guide to Distilled Spirits Production
Distilled spirits are created by fermenting a sugar- or grain-based liquid and then carefully heating it to separate alcohol from water and impurities. This process concentrates flavors and alcohol content, producing spirits with distinct aromas and character.
Different spirits require specialized distillation techniques and materials. Vodka is typically distilled multiple times in stainless steel stills for a clean, neutral taste. Whisky and rum benefit from red copper components, which interact with impurities to enhance smoothness and develop rich aromas. Gin uses copper gin baskets to extract botanicals, resulting in complex, aromatic flavors.
Modern distillation systems allow precise control over temperature, column configuration, and the number of distillation plates, ensuring consistent quality while offering flexibility for experimental batches. By selecting the right materials and equipment, distilleries can produce spirits that meet both traditional standards and modern taste preferences.
